Hari Raya Celebration in IPGM Kampus Darulaman

Hi,
Nearly a month, i haven't update anything here. Life is so busy lately. After the ISO fever is over, then the camping fever, and finally the result submission fever. Completely done with it, so i grab this opportunity to upload some photos during the hariraya celebration at my college. I was very frustrated, coz my handphone memory really cause me some troublesome. After taking several photos, and suddenly the memory cause me headache and frustration. Only 2 photos can definitely be rescued. I tried to browse the internet regarding the problem, and everywhere i saw comments that my type of sony ericson c910 have some problem with the original memory. Last year when i bought that sony i though it should be okay, because the model has been used in james bond 007 movie, but it wasn't work very well for me. So last week i decide to get another memory and this time i didn't choose the original sony type, but another brand. I got one month warranty for that.. And it's still in good condition till this moment. The previous one couldn display the video very well, but this one it's seems very okay. hopefully....

Some of the photos i wanted to share are:
Photo of me and some of my mentees.

Simple Chocolate Cake

Hi,
After being so delighted with my first banana cake, I decided to bake another one. Except that this time, there is no more banana in the house. I accidently found my small note book, in my handbag, I slipped through one recipe written few weeks back. This recipe, I got from one of my friend from Science Social Department, Jah. When I saw everybody else keep writing the recipe, I also did the same. Who knows, if i have the time later, i might be able to make the cake too.
Thanks to her, I finally found the recipe in the small note book, and yesterday, after coming back from the office, I dropped by the K-Ceria, a small supermarket or a minimarket, because it's so small if compared with other big size supermarket. Get some cocoa powder, baking chocolate, some soda bicarbonate, flour and daisy corn oil.
Later that night i prepared the cake, and to share with everybody, I listed out some of the ingredients required for the cake preparation. It's so easy, even my 12 year old daughter can make it.
Steam Chocolate Cake Recipes
1. 1 cup of cocoa powder
2. 1 cup of corn oil ( I used daisy)
3. 1 1/2 cup od flour
4. 1 cup of fine sugar ( I used icing sugar, because it's less sweet)
5. 1 tin of ideal milk
6. 1 tea spoon of baking powder
7. 1 tea spoon of soda bicarbonate ( I don't know why we need both of these, baking and soda, does it make any different)
8. a little bit of salt.

How
1. Mixed everything well.
2. Pour everything in the pan (put some oil around the pan, to avoid the cake stick to pan)
3. Steam for one hour. (I was too lazy to steam, so I just baked it in the oven for about 45 minutes with 190 degree)
4. After it's already baked, boil some chocolate (use double boiler), and pour all the chocolate on the cake.
5. While the chocolate topping is still hot, decorate it with some colourful rice chocolate)
6. Call everybody in the house, slice into small pieces, then eat. Everybody can eat, remember that there is no egg in the ingredients.

So, easy. My children already asked me to bake another cake, the same type this coming wednesday night, because there is a hariraya celebration at their school, on thursday, and they want to share the marvelous, delicious, creamy chocolate cake with their friends.

That's for now.

Banana Cake

Hi, Happy Eid. Salam Aidil Fitri.

The festive mood is still around although the hari raya celebration has already ended. My family and me were just coming back from kampung after spending a week holiday in my beloved hometown, inconjunction with the hari raya festival. The day when we drove back to hometown in Kelantan, we were very fortunated because not much traffic on the road. The journey that we usually spend around 5 to 6 hours, has been cut short to approximately less than four hours. I don't know how it happened, since I slept all the way, only once in a while I opened my eyes, and without I realised it, my eye lids closed again. Since that day was a fasting day in ramadhan month, so my husband was driving non-stop starting from my house in Jitra through out the way to my hometown in a small village in Pulai Chondong. Usually, we have to stop for a coffee break and even my children will have the opportunities to practise their swimming and diving skills in one of the river somewhere in Perak. But, since that day was a fasting day in ramadhan, obviously we didn't need to make any stop until we reached our destination.
All the way, we witnessed several road accidents. Somewhere in Grik, a car was upside down, and not long after that several cars bumped to each others, and the others, I didn't remember coz obviously I was sleeping when that occured. Alhamdulillah, we were safely arrived.

Now, I was back in Jitra again, after splendidly, spending our precious holiday moment. And today is my working day again. The normal routine goes on again.

Yesterday, I did bake a banana cake to bring to the office. This is the first time I baked a banana caked, yes I admit, I have eaten some banana cakes several times, and watching my sister preparing and baking the cake, but yet never did it with my own hand.

The recipe is so simple( I got this recipe from my sister), what I need is
1. Banana - the most important ingredients, a must have, if this is omitted, then we couldn't afford to have a banana cake. My sister said it is better if i used the kapas type, but what i have only the berangan type. Since i got the berangan type, and since my husband loves to eat banana cakes very much, then i made an effort to prepare this.
2. 2 cups of flours
3. 1 cup of sugar
4. 1 cup of condensed milk. I think we can also use fresh milk coz it is less sweet.
5. 1 cup or corn oil
6. a table spoon of soda bicarbonate( only a table spoon, and not a spoon that sized a table)
7. a table spoon of ovellete. (When i prepare the cake, i don't have the ovellete, so i just replaced it with vegetable spread)
8. Don't forget 3 eggs. Make sure only the eggs not the chicken.
9. A little bit of salt. Since i'm not using butter or margerine so i need salt
10. Several drops of vanilla essence. Luckily i got the several last drops in the freeze.

Mix all the ingredients well. Then baked at 180 - 200 degrees arround 30 to 40 minutes. Depends, you have to always poke the cake with fork to make sure it's already baked. (that what i did)

Finally, i have made my very own first banana cake. It taste very good, moist but quite sweet. May be next time i will reduce the amount of the sugar from one cup to three quarter cup. Or may be, the cup that i used should be smaller in size. I guess.

The ingredients amount as mentioned able to produce 2 medium size banana caked. I slices some and packed for my son to bring to his school.

I brought the banana cake to the office, and it's not bad at all. From a full tupperware, it's almost finished.

Bye..

Abe's 17th Birthday

Good morning 13th May 2009. Today is my eldest son's birthday. I woke very early this morning. Last night I have set my phone alarm to 4:30 am. Today I want to prepare some nasi dagang to bring to the office. It's has been so long, after I bought the brown rice, I planned to prepare the nasi dagang, but always got something else that need my attention more. So today, I decided to cook some home made nasi dagang for family and friends in the office. Nasi dagang with acar timun, replenished with Gulai ayam and gulai udang. On top of the gulai udang I also add hard boiled eggs. I packed 2 bungkus of nasi dagang, one for my daughter (bekal so that she doesn't need to queue at the school canteen this morning) and the other for my husband. And of course I bring some for my officemates.
So everybody can have a taste to the home made nasi dagang. Although the taste couldn't challenge the professional makcik kat Pasar Siti Khadijah, it still in the edible mode.

Hope you study hard for your semester exam, and remember that the SPM is also around the corner. So sharpen your knowledge. Work hard towards it...And I always pray for your best.

Happy Mother's Day

Hi, meet again. Hope it's still not too late to wish Happy Mother's Day to all the lovely mother and mother to be in the world. Although deep in my thought, we should celebrate mother's day everyday, not just once annually. But if so, can't imagine how full and occupied your locker will be..Full with roses and gift boxes.
Last Sunday on 10 May 2009, on the Mother's Day itself and same with the previous morning i woke up as usual and knocked my daughter's door for a wake up call and shake my other son to get ready for school.
Later, that very morning and on my laptop I found a small box and 2 roses nicely put. I know this must be from my daughter, no wonder last night she was busy doing something in her room with the door locked. I thought she just want to avoid her brother, because usually the day before school, she must be very busy with unfinished homework.
I opened the small box. Though it was very small, but I appreciated the present. I took the box and the flowers and arranged nicely on my bed. The time didn't allow me to open it, coz I need to rush to work.
In the afternoon, when I was in the office, my daughter called me up. "Umi, dah buka ke hadiah angah bagi" she asked. So I answered that I didn't manage to open the box cause I need to rush to the office. She sound devastated. I know, she really wants me to open that very minute when i saw the present. No wonder why she purposely put on my laptop. She knew that, before going to the office, I will pack and keep my notebook in my bag, so I will find the present that she gave and will open it immediately.
In the afternoon, I arrived home, locked the car, ran into my house, hang the car key and rushed upstair. Aha, I opened the gift my daughter presented me this morning and I found a very small, tiny time sand. You know the small bottle, with three compartments, filled with sands. The sand will gradually fell, when you turn it upside down. Very nice.. I remember last week she said to me, this month I will get 3 presents. The three are for Mother's Day, Teacher's Day and My birthday. I replied to her that I don't want any present this year (last year she spent her pocket money for these three events, so I asked her not to buy any present next time). I added to her that she doesn't need to buy me anything because she was my birthday present since last 12 years ( she was born on the same date with me except yearla). What I like most with what she gave is the lyric for a song that she wrote dedicated to me, the one that she wrote on the box wrapper.
May is so special to me. My eldest son birthday is on 13th May, my youngest son is on 2nd May and my daughter and me on the 20th May. And it happened that every year we are celebrating Mother and Teacher's day in May too.

Attending a conference in France

Wow, can't believe it. I was given the opportunity to visit Paris the romantic city. The bright star doesn't showed up everynight I guessed, so why not enjoying it.

Garden and office in a movie

Garden and office in a movie is something i produced to express my feeling. The garden basically surrounds my little hut while the office landscape also inspired me most of the time. For all the viewers out there, do enjoy the movie clip. Happy watching. Till then..

Journey from Kelantan to Kedah

Everytime when my family travel from Kelantan to Kedah, my youngest son and daughter always ask their father to stop at any recreation area especially the one with river and waterfall. So last week, their wishes came true when on the way back from 5 days holiday at my hometown in Kelantan, my husband purposely give a chance to them.

When we arrived, the place was so quiet and not crowded with people as usual. We have stopped by several time before but it was always full with people. Adib and Fatihah quickly changed to swimming clothes and jumped to the cold and clean river.
My eldest son, he used to be like his youngest brother when he was small, but now his aged is reaching 17 this May, so he just joined me and husband admiring the view. The splash of the cold water was so tempting, i'm shouting to swim too. So enjoy these photo I managed to capture.

Island Hopping in Langkawi

Hi, greeting to everybody. Especially to those who just came back from school breaks.Last 2 weeks I attended a 3 days and 2 nights course at Langkawi. It has been so long since my last visit several months ago.

The course was arranged by Unit Peperiksaan to all the Penyelaras/Penolong Penyelaras KKBI for each department. And as usual the 8 to 5 session are packed with valuable informations. We were introduced to Quest2 application, resfreshement of the KKBI etc.

And besides the absolutely fully informative courses, we also appreciate the chances given to hop the island. We cruise along the langkawi sea to the Gua Kelawar, Gua Buaya, floating seafood restaurant(we dropped by and able to see live and realtime all the nemo, belangkas, etc) and luckily we could also fed the eagles with breakfast leftover which is of course the bread slices that has turned into bread chunks. From far we can see the Kilim Geoforest Park, Pulau Kasut(the island sure very much like a shoe-but without the shoe tie), Pulau King Kong (you should believe this - unluckily the boat cruised so fast i can't take a snap of it).
I managed to take some interesting photos to share.

Rebate Online

On 14 February 2009, i logged on to pos online for car cash rebate. My kancil road tax and insurance has been renewed early February. So i figured by 14 February i was eligible for the rebate. Previously, my husband suggested me to go to the post office and claim the rebate(I should have followed his advice). I replied to him mentioning that i don't like to queue at the post office (although we are not queueing anymore cause we can take the number then find any seat in the post office before they called our number) and beside I should use the technology [this is my area and i earn my living with it], so that i don't have to be physically in the post office. I registered, filled in all the necessary information and successfully submitted my claim.

The system displayed that i will get my rebate after 3-4 working days. On 20th Feb, i logged on to the system to check for the claim. I acknowledged that my claim is still in process. The next day i checked again...still ini process. So i called the 1300300300 number asking for my rebate status. Luckily i don't have to wait long, a soft spoken guy from the service center answered and get my particulars. He said he will report my query and explained that it might be due to the system that caused the delay for my cash rebate. though in my head i thought that system should make their services much faster and easy. On the other hand the system doesn't function as it supposed to work.

Today, i checked the system again, and it's end up the same..

Another Birthday

This morning, i was woken up by my phone alarm with a note "Birthday Cik Ngah". Ha ha, that very minute, i typed birthday wishes embeded with happy smiley animation and sent to my beloved sister. Wish her the most wonderful birthday ever. 23th Feb, I never missed wishing her happy birthday, though we are physically far located, she in east coast while me up here in nothern area...you are very near to me in my heart.

Later not very second, my phone beeping and i got a thank you message from her with additional "Wait for my free call" message. I wonder if i could switch to the same phone package as hers, which i guessed she is using prepaid hotlink compared to me using a postpaid celcom which i think the bill is so ridiculous and not worth paying ( the plan that i took is 250 bundle minute call duration and 20sms.- RM50 per month) and what i did paid most of the months is hunded over... When celcom said RM50 minute, of course it doesn't included the hidden item such as the itemised bill(rm3.00), telemanager enhanced(rm5.00) Call me tones(rm3.00 - of course this one i don't blame celcom), 5% monthly charges and chargeable usages, plus effective november last year all calls made to short codes such as 100 and 103 charged RM1.00 and RM2.00 respectively.

Thinking of switching to another provider but i don't know why, it always keep holding me on...
Might be due to the reasons
a. Most of my friends have this numbers
b. All my student also has this number
c. Don't have time to call the provider
d. Haven't decide which provider to choose
e. I love my number
f. My kids have already memorize this number.

Well someday, I will find the time....

Faridah's Birthday

Just finished my breakfast at the umi's cafetaria this morning. So i followed the advise "Eat your breakfast like a king, lunch like a prince and dinner like a beggar", I took a half plate of plain rice (of course the plate is still full, except the rice amount is reduced), compliment with cencaru sumbat, some anchovy, slices of cucumber and a must have sambal belacan prepared by mak teh.. And not forgetting the teh-o-ice....(i change my beverage menu today, and everyday..so everytime when came to the cafetaria, i couldn't say "air macam biasa" coz nothing "macam biasa" to expect.

I met my mentee's. They were about to started their breakfast. Ina, one of my mentee signaling her eyes toward Faridah (another mentee) mentioning "Puan, kelmarin birthday Faridah"....Opps I forgot her birthday and some other mentee too i guess.... Last year i bought in advance 20 mini tweeties, koala, bear, panda at the Bukit Bunga. Keep save in my locker at the office, and when the birthday come, i got something to give.. Regret, this year i didn't prepare that... so Here i wish to wish Faridah "Happy Sweet 20th Birthday Yesterday. Sorry I didn't have anything to give as a birthday present, but later when i have time i will find something for you"... Though i thought i a card will do just fine...

About Faridah : Celebrating 2oth birthday on 17 Feb 2009...A very humble, nice and sweet protege, soft spoken and easy to get along with. Hardworking and patient..

Flowers

Flowers... I like, I admire most, colorful, come in different sizes and smell....

Prevoious days back, when i reached home from the office, i parked my car at the parking area infront of my house..Nobody at home. My kids were still in school for sport training, coz the school sport day is around the corner...My hubby, somewhere in the mosque i guess...

So, i browse around my garden admiring my husband's effort towards the surrounding garden in our lots, something i like to do if i got time...With my sony ericsson cybershot 5.0 megapixel.. i did some shooting...and the products are as displayed.

Car Parking

Everymorning after punching my yellow card or in other word "punch card", i will drive my car and park it somewhere near to my department building. Not really near, but very very near. Seem like if i could park infront of my office door i would do. But of course i wouldnt' coz my department is at the second floor of the building and that make my parking intention is impossible....Come on, i wouldn't do that if soo.

Last weekend, when i parked my car at the jitra market for groceries (Friday is the best day for grocery coz, i could't do it at other day due to officially must be in the office), i found a flyer that has something to do with the parking coupon....Wow, unbelievable.. never thought of paying for the parking in Jitra, though that what had been implemented in Alor Setar. But never come accross to me that someday all the jitra resident's that come for groceries at the pasar need to pay the car park coupon... He he..sob sob..

Better Today than never

Last monday, I attended the Staff Development Training at my organisation. Well the title is very related to what i always care to do but haven't started for so long. I am somewhat very agree with the presenter's opinion, Dr. Baharuddin that we must start writing something. At least a single piece a day would do. Just imagine what you will get after a day, a week, a fortnight, a month, a year and many-many years ahead, of course.
