Gravy for Popiah and Keropok Lekor
Yesterday, 11 September 2011 I attended an opened house invited by my student, Ira (I called her Intan, but she called herself ira, so do her friends). The picture above depicted the guests and the hosts for the opened house (most of them are the hosts, except the guys and two other girls and me).
My first dishes was the meehun soup. Nice and delicious blended ingredients. Taste so delightful. I ate one bowl, intended to add some more but, has to reserve my stomach to other food too. I asked them whether they catered the food or home made, and surprisingly they prepared them all by themselve. Linda acted as the chief cook. Hmm not bad at all. Although busy completing their assignments they still can cooked good and delicious food for the opened house. Later I tried several raya biscuits and taste so good too. Finally I grabbed one fried popiah. Hmm, soft and sweet savory taste really made me wanted to take some more. Later when I wanted to go back, they packed and go for me the delicious and savory popiah. Thank you girls for the invitation (please don't hesitate to invite me next time, he he!). Today I met one of them(I called her penglipur lara (how she got the name, I'll reveal later, in other post) and asked for the recipe for the popiah gravy. The gravy they made is really tasty, mouth watering and I like it very much. So here I revealed the secret for the gravy preparation.
Ingredients:
1. Dried Chilly
2. Manisan (brown sugar)
3. Salt
4. Sugar
5. water
(Blended ingredients number 1 to 5 together, boiled till it thick)
6. Sesame (fry it first)
7. Corn Flour (a teaspoon will do)
Finally add ingredients number 6 and 7).
Delicious and tasteful gravy for popiah and keropok lekor is accomplished. Do try this at home without harm!....

do's n donts
Hi meet again after a long eid holiday. Wow enjoyed the holiday very much. Lots need to be shared, but put it aside first. Yesterday I started my routine at the office again. Met my PPISMP BnK 2 student during ICT class. While lecturing, I saw somebody that I knew waving to me from outside of the lab. She knocked and entered the class. I wuz given a surprised visit from my former student who just came back from portmouth uk for several days holiday celebrating the hariraya holiday in Malaysia. Intan Bakri, I still remember her name even it's nearly one n half year she has left this college to further her study. Yesterday also I got a message from Athirah, my ex bahasa arab PPISMP student mentioning she is about to fly to jourdan to further her study. Good for both of u. I really appreciated their thought to make an effort to keep in touch with me(that's the sweetness for being an educator, wherever, whenever, our student still recognize and remember us). So much about their story, let me proceed with mine.
Today I attended a staff meeting at the hall. In the hall, I sat next to a very experience friend in the hall(Pn. Sharifah Izhar). She is well known as the person that we refer when it come to ethic n protocol. I've learnt a lot from her. The things that I learnt today are:
a) When there is a meeting or gathering, make sure the VIP seats are all set nice and proper infront of the hall. Don't ever do last minute job. Because it's very awkward and annoying when you have to carry the huge settee in the middle of the gathering. And furthermore, when the sette quantity is not tele to the VIP guests. Since there are 4 settee available but only three were filled up. the other one look so empty and nobody sitting on it. (Thought we must appreciated the effort of the person to make it happenned to at least bring the settee there. just imagine if the sette is not avail there, sure the VIP guest must sit on a plain chair (a banquet chair I guess).
b) During the meeting, the mc invites several newcomers to come and introduced themselve to the audience. One of the newcomer come to front and introduced herself. And I can see, after she's done with the introduction, she went back to her seat, but I can see that when she walked away, she grip her cloth. Then I learnt that we shouldn't use our hand to hold and grip our cloth like that coz from the body of languages people can tell that we are not confidence. Yup, I sometime did that too without I realised it. Our subconcious mind has made us do that. So next time, I must remember, do not or never ever grip or hold your cloth like that. Let you hand free from holding anything. That can describe your confidence level.
c) One of the newcomer come to front later. and this time she looks much confidence. She introduced herself smoothly and glad to be with us. But the don't thing is that she walked pass through behind the VIP seats. According to my friend, it is much appropriate if she could walk through in front of the VIP and bend down a little to show respect.
d) If you are giving the speech, do avoid grabbing or surrounded your hand around the rostrum coz it's shows that you have the power unless you yourself really meant it.
e) At the end of the meeting, the VIP come to the floor and on his way out to the door, he shakes hands with the audience. And again here, a reminder, please do stand up and even if your hand couldn't reach the VIP, just to let him know that you are aware of his existance, and at least show some respect too.
